Concert Review Berlin 2006

After picking up some people from the main station in Berlin and doing some sightseeing with them we arrived at the club at around half past 4 pm. Usually I would not go that early to this club but as i thought there were already people sitting. People, I also knew from previous Papa Roach concerts. So great to see them again and felt like it was just yesterday when we saw them at the concert in Hamburg, though it was last year.
So we sat down in front of the doors and starting talking, listening to the sound check of Papa Roach and Vito, took pictures of our German board members and anticipated the concert.

At around 8 pm the doors opened. The security check was kinda not existing and so everybody got their cameras and stuff in. I managed to get to the front row on the left and then the waiting started again.
Support act this time was a German band called Vito. Wicked Wisdom were supposed to open for Papa Roach but they had business to do and so Vito were lucky. They only played 20 mins but they were good. Had worse support acts than them. (coughsMinuscoughs)
And waiting again... i started to get nervous. Somehow this concert was special this time. First real one in like 9 month for them and they do it here. They really must like Germany and i think they didn’t regret it. The crowd was awesome. Shouting Papa Roach like 10 mins before it started and they were already moshing during the support act. It was a great atmosphere.

Finally at 10 pm it started. Light went out and a little unknown intro told us that they not gonna start with Dead Cell.
TO BE LOVED was the first song and people were loving it. Some were already singing along but at least till the 3rd Wohooohooo everyone was into it. Just Jerry locked a bit pissed cuz his guitar seemed to be not sounding right. He changed the guitar after that and also this one was kinda tuned down and so he was pissed after he got a good one for the third song which was ALIVE. Jacoby was on fire. Feeling the great atmosphere, liked to fall down from the monitor boxes several times and jumped in front of the barriers to be as close as possible to the crowd. He did that like 3 times and during the last time he was standing right in front of me tousling my hair, getting me even more sweaty with his wet everything and let me scream in the mic... which was kinda not hearable as my voice was gone already after Dead Cell.
What was also rememberable was a new song called TIME IS RUNNING OUT. Jacoby was saying: You wanna rock now? And everyone screamed and the song started. Really fast with flashing lights and the crowd as well as the band rocking out. The song is really impressing and i think it gonna be one of my favorites together with FOREVER which they were playing as the first encore. I really like the song and the lyrics a lot although its a kinda slow song.
One more new song was CRASH. Listening to the snippet I wasn’t that impressed but live its awesome. They thought of something special there too. During the song they suddenly stopped. The whole band was staring in the crowd with all lights out on the stage for like 1 minute. No one knew what was going on and so the crowd just started Shouting PAPA ROACH for the entire time. You could tell that Jacoby was like absorbing this feeling and then suddenly the song continued even faster and more intense.
They ended with Between Angels and insects and i really think they enjoyed playing here, especially the new stuff. That\'s maybe why we got 5 of them. I can\'t wait for them coming back in October.
